Our Summer Days

We love making mini muffins. This was on late Sunday morning before getting ready for church. (The boys have taken to stripping down lately when they feel hot.) I think we ate pretty much all of the muffins in one sitting.

My couch potatoes. With it being summer, no friends yet, and no where to just go out and play on a whim, I've let the kids watch more TV then normal. They love it.

All smiles. I can always count on Courtney to be smiling and happy. She even looks pretty good for having just gotten out of bed.

Poor Max had to take some abuse this day while the kids dressed him up. I had to be quick with the camera each time before he ripped it off.

New Game

This is our newest family game that we love. We are always on the lookout for a good game that we can all play. Right now, all of our games are in storage, so we went to Walmart last night and picked up a few new ones. This game is a great one. It's similar to UNO, which we also love, but different enough to have something new. It says ages 7 and up, so I wasn't sure how Dylan, age 4 would do. But he loved it. He spreads his cards out in front of him since he can't hold them in his hand without dropping. It's pretty fun and keeps you on your toes. We also bought Monopoly Town which is a very simplified kid's version. Courtney and Dylan really liked it. Any good games you like to play with your kids?

EWWWWWW!

This is what we found on Max the other day. So gross! It hadn't stuck its head in yet, thank goodness. I HATE TICKS!

Too Cute

My sweet Travis. Its a good thing Heavenly Father made little boys so cute and with the best smiles. Its so easy to love them and forget everything else in that moment. We love you Travis, even after you've thrown dog food all over the floor, stolen Dylan's toys for the bazillionth time, and ripped a good book that I forgot to put out of reach.

Swimming Fun

The kids have had so much fun at the swimming pool at our apartment building. It's nice to just hop on over without it having to be a big production each time. And Travis has really taken to the water fast. He loves to swim by himself or jump in with no fear, (as long as he has his swim vest on.) Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of him swimming because I won't let him swim without me right next to him. His balance isn't always quite right. He'll all of a sudden do a face plant into the water, which usually just makes him laugh, but now and then results in water up his nose, coughing, and a totally shocked look on his face. I'll have to get some pictures of him when Bruce goes with us.

Courtney loves swimming. She's a great swimmer after being on the swim team for 2 years. Although she doesn't want to do swim team anymore, she's a real fish.

Dylan was pretty afraid of the water until about a month ago. He's been in lessons for a while, but just wouldn't relax. We got him this swim vest and goggles. Now he takes off with no fear. Even without them on, he's much more relaxed. Plus, its nice not to have to hold both boys together. As long as Dylan stays near me, I let him swim and jump to his hearts content.

New home, new state, new blog

My sisters have been bugging me for a while to start my own blog, but I just haven't had the desire. They write these posts that are so eloquent and profound and just beautifully written. When I was substitute teaching, I would see 3rd and 4th graders write better than me. I hate my writing. Plus, most of the people that cared to see our pictures or know what was going on with us already knew.

Before I left Lander, I had a wonderful yet tearful goodbye with 2 very dear friends, Joni and Amber. They convinced me that I needed a blog so we could keep in touch better. I figured I'd better do something for not only them, but my other family and friends as well, now that we are out here in North Carolina all by ourselves, no family or friends (yet.) So we'll see how this goes and how well I keep it updated. [I'll play with it for a while, so don't be surprised if it changes every week at first.]

So here we are in our new city, Apex. It's beautiful and green and full of people and shops and a temple 5 minutes away. So different from Lander. I love it. I met a few people at church on Sunday, but look forward to meeting a lot more and making friends. Courtney is signed up for school, which starts the beginning of July because it's a year-round school. She's not too happy about that, but I think she'll get used to it fast. She's just holding on to everything Wyoming right now.

We'll get settled quickly I'm sure. We need our house to sell, (anyone looking to buy???) Then we'll get our finances in order so we can buy a house here and feel permanent. Until then, we'll enjoy our apartment with its swimming pools. So nice during these 100 degree days.

We miss everyone already.
